How WePlant?

Welcome to WePlant: Nurturing a Future where There’s no Hunger or Malnutrition

At WePlant, our mission is to create a world where everyone has access to nutritious fruits, fostering a sustainable and greener planet. We believe that impactful change starts at the grassroots level, and that's why our activities begin at the state level, involving communities, students, and volunteers in every step of the process.

Seed Bank - Sowing the Seeds of Tomorrow

To kickstart our journey toward a bountiful future, we establish Seed Banks at the State and District Levels in every school, college, resident welfare association, companies etc. Inspired teachers and students from every school receive orientation and hands-on training, empowering them to play an active role in saving every seed possible. Through SeedBanks, we collect seeds from schools from June/July, ensuring there is enough seeds to plant to make India’s GoogleMap Green!

Empowering Students with the "WePlant" Model

With our unique "WePlant" Model, students learn to create pits, fill them with compost and cow dung, and sow seeds at the beginning of the monsoon. This hands-on approach instills a sense of ownership and responsibility, as they nurture these seeds with care.

Enlisting Tree Guardians - Cultivating Stewards of Nature

We believe in building a strong network of Tree Guardians who will plant and nurture fruit trees across public locations, including roads, public squares, water bodies, schools, and village squares. By embracing the Nishkamakarma principle - doing something worthwhile without expecting anything in return - these Tree Guardians become the forerunners in Ending Hunger & Malnutrition.

Real-time Progress with WePlant App

We understand the importance of monitoring and documenting progress effectively. With our WePlant App, we empower users to monitor and report the growth of trees in real-time. This technological integration enhances transparency and enables collaboration in our collective mission.

Planting, Caring, and Protecting - A Hands-On Approach

With official permissions in place, we dig pits, preparing them with dry leaves and compost for seed planting. Thorns and sticks form a protective fence around the pits, safeguarding the young seeds from harm. Students play an active role, in naming and nurturing these trees until they thrive to five or six feet tall.

Watering and Nurturing - Cultivating Caring Habits

During summer, students and volunteers diligently water the seeds and baby trees daily, ensuring their survival. Organic manure, like compost and fruit/vegetable waste, nourishes the soil and sustains healthy growth. Through consistent care and dedication, we ensure the trees flourish for years to come.

Volunteers - The Heart of Our WePlant Movement

Volunteers are the backbone of WePlant, with mobilization efforts reaching local colleges, schools, corporations, residential societies, and companies. We provide training to equip them with the knowledge of planting and nurturing. Together with school students, they actively participate in collecting SeedBanks and plantation drives, bolstering the impact of our endeavors.

Join us at WePlant, where we sow the seeds of a brighter tomorrow and together, we cultivate a world where fruits flourish, hunger dissipates, and our planet thrives. Embrace the power of collective action and be a part of our green movement today!
